Instructor

Dr. Karl-Michael Popp
Senior Director Corporate Strategy and Corporate Development at SAP

Dr. Carl Michael Popp is Senior Director of Corporate Development at SAP, the world's leading enterprise resource planning software company, headquartered in Waldorf, Germany. An economist by training with a PhD in information systems, Carl spent the early part of his career in process modeling and product management at SAP before a brief stint at a Munich-based security software startup. He returned to SAP in 2007, where he was introduced to post-merger integration, and has been leading M&A projects and driving M&A process improvement within SAP's corporate development function ever since. Carl is also the author of Automation of Mergers and Acquisitions, a book that breaks down M&A strategy into structured data and process models — translating what is often a fluffy, PowerPoint-driven discipline into something rigorous and repeatable.
